The government will take actions of the “Zero – No Violence against Women should be tolerated” at Marquês de Sapucaí, O, this Sunday (2) and March 8, Women’s Day and the Championship Parade.
The initiative is a partnership of the Ministry of Women with the Ministry of Health, Fiocruz (Oswaldo Cruz Foundation) and Liesa (Independent League of Rio de Janeiro Samba Schools).
This Sunday, the campaign will have the participation of ministers (women), (racial equality), (human rights) and (indigenous peoples). The minister of women will also be at the act held at the champions parade.
A track of the campaign loaded by women from different movements and communities of Rio de Janeiro will be exposed before schools entry into the three days of the special group parades (Sunday, Monday and Tuesday). There will be panels, stickers in the doors of bathrooms, bottons and graphic materials about the campaign. At the champions’ parade, the speaker will bring messages from the ministry action.
“The mobilization, which has been coming since August last year, seeks to make Brazilian society understand that it needs to get in violence against women,” says Cida Gonçalves.
“So we have been to football stadiums and now we are at Carnival, which is another national passion. Our trip to the courts, school rehearsals, is exactly to establish the relationship with the community so that we can have effective continuity in mobilization.”
