Motorcyclist Edcarlos Pereira da Cruz, 45, was the victim of an attempted murder while trying to help a woman who was being robbed on public roads at dawn on Saturday (26), in Baixada da Sobral, in Rio Branco.

According to information passed on by the victim herself, he was leaving Carnival in downtown Rio Branco, bound for his residence when, on the way, he saw a woman being robbed and asking for help. He quickly stopped the motorcycle and went down to help.
Edcarlos, using the helmet as a weapon, struck several blows to the criminal, and the two went into a body fight. During the confrontation, both fell to the ground, when the robber, armed with a knife, struck the back of the rider. With the strength of the attack, the blade ended up breaking inside Edcarlos’s body. After the aggression, the bandit fled the scene.
Even wounded, Edcarlos managed to climb the motorcycle and went to the Baixada da Sobral Emergency Care Unit (UPA), where he asked the medicals on duty. After being stabilized, he was transferred in an advanced support ambulance to the Rio Branco Emergency Room, where he underwent medical evaluation.
On Saturday morning, he underwent an exploratory laparotomy to remove the knife fragment that was housed between his back and the abdomen.
No team of the Military Police or the Civil Police were called in to meet the incident.
