It decided it on Wednesday (26) to promote four-a number of record of promotion the female general official in the history of Brazilian women.
One of the promoted is Gisele Mendes de Souza and Mello, while working on. The post mortem promotion, according to the Navy, recognizes Gisele’s “dedication and altruism”.
In addition to Gisele, all new admirals are part of the Navy Healthcare. They are: Daniella Leitão Mendes, Monica Medeiros Luna and Claudia Regina Amaral da Silva Fiorot.
“The active service of the Brazilian Navy now has four women at the post of General Officer. Promoted in 2023, the counterfeit Maria Cecilia Conceição will assume the position of director of Naval Hospital Marcílio Dias. It will be the first time that a woman has held this function in the largest health unit in the Navy,” said the navy.
Maria Cecilia was the first black woman to be promoted to Admiral in the history of the Navy. Before assuming the hospital management, she was director of the Department of Health and Social Assistance of the Ministry of Defense.
The list of promotions of general officers was defined this week at an admiral meeting in Brasilia. The group brings together all the active four star admirals and Navy Commander Marcos Sampaio Olsen.
The promotion will be published in decree of President Lula (PT) on March 31. The petista must participate in a ceremony for the fulfillment of the new general officers.
