Daniel Day-Lewis is the only person who has three best actor Oscars. He won the awards for his work in the following films: “My Left Foot” (1989), playing Christy Brown; “Black Blood” (2007), as Daniel Plainview; and “Lincoln” (2012), in the role of Abraham Lincoln.

The actors who have two of these awards are: Fredric March, Spencer Tracy, Gary Cooper, Marlon Brando, Jack Nicholson, Dustin Hoffman, Anthony Hopkins, Tom Hanks and Sean Penn.

As for Best Supporting ActorThis distinction is led by Walter Brennan, with three statuettes: for his work in “My Son is my rival” (1936), “Southern Romance” (1938) and “The Last Frontier” (1940), according to IMDB.

With two Oscar awards for best supporting actor, we also have Anthony Quinn, Peter Ustinov, Melvyn Douglas, Jason Roberds, Michael Caine, Christoph Waltz and Mahershala Ali.
