The carnival of 2025 has started and the party runs until Ash Wednesday, on the 5th. The date, however, is not considered a national holiday and varies according to each state. In Rio, Tuesday, which this year falls on March 4, is a state holiday, due to Law 5243/2008. Therefore, the employee is entitled to clearance on this day. By tradition, it is not usually worked on Carnival Monday, but there is no provision in law on this, it depends on the policies of each company.
Ash Wednesday is not a holiday. What usually happens is that the activities are resumed after noon.
