China is willing to solve US concerns through consultations and dialogues, but will not accept threats and oppression, a Chinese parliamentary spokesman told reporters on Tuesday (4).
United States President Donald Trump announced comprehensive 10% tariffs on all Chinese imports, leading Beijing to respond with retaliatory tariffs and opening a dispute in the World Trade Organization (WTO) against Washington, which may be an initial test of Trump’s position in relation to the institution.
“The unilateral imposition of US tariffs violates WTO rules and interrupts the safety and stability of global industrial chains and supplies,” said Lou Qinjian, spokesman for the National Congress of the People of China in an interview.
The actions of China and Hong Kong fell on Tuesday, with new US fees on Chinese imports about to take effect, while investors were waiting for the next annual parliamentary sessions to evaluate the Beijing Policy path.
