Although the Ukrainian president, Volodimir Zelenski, is currently between the sword and the wall with respect to the peace negotiations, due to the demands by, on the one hand, Donald Trump, and on the other, Vladimir Putin, it seems that, at least for now, he will not accept a condition in case it is indispensable to achieve peace.
This has to do with the territories demanded by Russia, and that for the moment, Zelenski refuses to deliver in any case or context. This was transmitted on March 2 after the end of the summit among several European leaders that took place in London.
In this sense, Zelenski ratified the positioning of his country and government with respect to the territories required by Russia: “will continue to be considered temporarily occupied” by the Russian Federation.
And it went further, insisting that “our territories and values are not for sale. Our freedom is not for sale. We are paying a high price for having been dragged to this by Russia,” were the words of the Ukrainian president before the media.
Zelenski also recalled that the cessation of hostilities could only occur if Ukraine receives solid guarantees on medium and long term security. However, during this Tuesday, the Ukrainian President has been shown for the first time open to a truce, that does not peace, and as long as some minimums that both Russia and the US respect are established.
