United States President Donald Trump (Republican) has announced that the country will begin to apply rates on imported agricultural products from April 2 as part of its commercial protection strategy.
“United States Farmers, prepare to produce even more agricultural products for the domestic market. Imported products will come into force on April 2. Enjoy! ”, Trump wrote on his network profile this Monday (3.mar.2025).
Import rates have been a recurring theme in Trump’s 2nd term, which began on January 20. On February 10, the Republican is a decree that taxes all steel and aluminum imports. Days later, reciprocal tariffs for countries that charge fees on US products-which are also effective on April 2.
