Union and SPD agree on reform of the debt brake and billion-dollar assets

Berlin – During the exploratory talks on the formation of a new German federal government, the Union and SPD agreed on a billion -dollar financing package. Union Chancellor candidate Friedrich Merz announced on Tuesday evening. All defense spending above one percent of gross domestic product would be excluded from the restrictions on the debt brake.
