Country does not set a new date; Exchange of 2025 focused on media responsibility and fighting fake news
The US government sent this 3rd (4.mar.2025) emails to foreign journalists about to board to the United States saying that the exchange they would be suspended.
The reason for the cancellation was not informed. There is no date for the resumption of the program, which in 2025 would discuss the responsibility of the media, journalistic ethics and the fight against fake news.
The “Edward R Murrow for Journalists: Media Responsibility” program is part of the International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP), which has promoted cultural and professional exchange since 1940.
About 5,000 participants from around the world are invited to the US to strengthen ties with other countries. The selection is made by the US diplomatic corps around the world.
