The US Department of Internal Security, the Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), arrested on Tuesday (4.Mar.2025) a fugitive from Brazilian justice since 2021. The man is being investigated by the PF (Federal Police) for participating in a cryptocurrency pyramid and fraud scheme.
According to the PF, Operation Kryptos illegally moved over R $ 38 billion between 2015 and 2021. Investigations point out that the man fled Brazil using a fake passport and continued to crimes in the US. He was arrested in Florida.
The fugitive “He started to work in the United States for the benefit of the criminal organization, intermediating equity acquisitions, constituting companies, moving bank accounts, acquiring cryptors and providing migratory documents”.said the PF.
The man was the target of Interpol (International Criminal Police Organization) as an international fugitive. He is in custody in the US while awaiting deportation or extradition arrangements to Brazil. He may answer for crimes that reach up to 26 years in prison.
Operation Krypto was responsible for the arrest of the as it was known Gladon Acácio dos Santos, in 2021.
