The coalition has 76 deputies in the National Council (NR) of the Slovak Republic who are ready for the election of the President of Parliament. Minister of Education Tomáš Drucker (Voice-SD) said this before Wednesday’s meeting. Thinks that the ending is coming “Unnecessary stretching for the position of the second highest constitutional official, which was the source of many problems in the coalition”.

Drucker is convinced that the four deputies, including the substitute for the appointed Tourism Minister and Sport Rudolf Huliak (Direction-SD nominee), is fully prepared to support the coalition after changes and the amendment in the coalition agreement. “I know that the Prime Minister also communicates with deputies who initiated the discussion and movements in the voice side,” he added Drucker. However, he refused to speculate whether the new Minister of Investment, Regional Development and Informatics would be from this environment.

“I have heard everything, but I have nothing to comment on, this resort currently belongs to Smer-SD,” pointed out. He also admitted that he did not record the name of Denisa Žiláková, the current state secretary of the Ministry of Transport of the Slovak Republic among candidates for the post of head of the Ministry of Investment, Regional Development and Information Technology. “No, I didn’t hear that,” he said.

The Minister also asked the journalists about his attitude to the possible rejection of military and financial assistance to Ukraine on Thursday (6. 3.) The EU leaders’ summit, in the event of failure to meet the conditions by the Slovak Republic. “I have no problem refusing military assistance, all circumstances need to be considered in financial and humanitarian aid. Europe should be solidarity and help where international law is violated,” Drucker pointed out.

On the other hand, it agrees that the stopping of gas transit through Ukraine is not justified and damages the interests of Slovakia and the Union. “I’m on the side of the Prime Minister,” confirmed. He pointed out the consequences of stopping gas transit, increasing energy costs and loss of Europe’s competitiveness. “As we want to help,” asks the minister.

Prime Minister Robert Fico (Smer-SD) said in connection with the planned EU summit in Brussels that he refused to support war in Ukraine. It therefore disagrees with military or financial support from the country. According to him, Slovakia will propose to put an explicit requirement for Ukraine into the conclusions to restore the transit of Russian or other gas through its territory.
