Google met with the United States government last week and asked him to retreat in an attempt to break up the company, according to a person familiar with the matter.
The US Department of Justice (DOJ) is currently in progress two anti -monopoly processes against Google – one on research technology and one on advertising technology.
“We gathered routinely with regulators, including DOJ, to discuss this case. As we said publicly, we are concerned that current proposals harm the US economy and national security, ”said a Google spokesman who belongs to Alphabet.
DOJ did not immediately respond to requests for comments from Reuters.
The department has presented possible searching solutions, including Google to alienate parts of their business, such as the Chrome browser, and end agreements that make it the standard search engine on devices such as Apple’s iPhone.
Judgment on which of the appeals is appropriate is scheduled to take place in April, with a final decision expected for August.
Continues after advertising
President Donald Trump is expected to retain in some of the antitrust policies adopted during former President Joe Biden’s government, potentially including an attempt to share Google due to his domain on online searches, industry experts said.
