Peru Firefighters fought a large fire on Tuesday (4) that consumed a building in downtown Lima, capital of the country.
The fire began on Monday (3) in a building used as a clandestine deposit without the necessary authorizations. Authorities have tried to close it several times unsuccessfully, according to local media reports.
The firefighters have managed to contain the spread of the fire, but are still fighting the flames due to the difficulty of bringing water to the entire structure.
The incident did not result in fatalities. Near residents were evacuated from their homes due to the risk of the fire spread to neighboring buildings, as reported by the local media.
