Summer holiday usually means beaches and sea in Italy or Croatia. But did you know that there is another, equally tempting alternative? Serbia, a destination full of history, beautiful nature and interesting experiences, will certainly be pleasantly surprised.
Every year, many people go on holiday to familiar and crowded destinations without realizing that there are other, often equally beautiful and interesting countries. One of these destinations is Serbia, which you do not have to go so far. Although this Balkan country does not have access to the sea, it certainly has a lot to offer. Beautiful nature, rich history and fascinating culture of the capital are just some of the reasons why you should include Serbia on your holiday list. It is no wonder that, according to the prestigious Lonely Planet magazine, Serbia was selected as one of the best possible destinations for 2025.

Serbia, often neglected country in the Balkans
Serbia offers a wide range of experiences that will please each of you, whether you prefer an active or relaxing holiday. In the south of the country there are mountains, ideal for hiking or cycling, while in the north you will find fertile planes and peaceful landscapes.
This area is also known for its wine -growing areas, which offers tastings of local wines and visits to traditional wine cellars. If you like history, you can visit the fascinating ancient monuments and medieval forts. Eastern and southern Serbia boasts the remains of Roman and Byzantine buildings, including the famous Felix Romulian, written on the UNESCO list.
In the center of the country is Belgrade, the capital, which is increasingly popular among younger generations. Thanks to its available and living nightlife, it is an ideal place for those who want to combine learning about history and culture with a modern lifestyle. Belgrade not only offers monuments such as the St. Sava or Fortress Kalemegdan, as well as a pulsating atmosphere of urban streets, restaurants and bars.
If you like an active holiday, you can go on a trip along the Danube River or visit some of the natural parks, such as Tara or Nook, which are a great place to relax and discover nature. Serbia will offer you experiences at every step, whether you are looking for adventure or rest.
Why Serbia?
It is great not to stay just for popular destinations and discover even the less known, which often offer equally fascinating experiences. Serbia is an ideal example of such hidden pearls. In addition, Serbia will reward you with authentic Balkan culture, interesting traditions and local hospitality. And what’s the best thing about it? Prices are favorable and the distance from the Czech Republic is short, so you don’t have to travel far to enjoy your holiday full of unforgettable experiences.
