Human skull found in Aveiro: PJ does not move away (for now) connection to the case of the pregnant woman

Once collected by the authorities, it is being the subject of a genetic analysis. The first impressions point to a male skull, a corpse for a few years. But the Judiciary Police does not depart, for now, the hypothesis of any connection to the case of the missing pregnant woman in Murtosa.

The human skull appeared in an area of ​​bush and land of cultivation, in green, at the limit of the municipality of Aveiro. Was found next to a stream by a man who was cleaning the land,

The newspaper also reveals that at the scene, near the skull, were some pieces of clothing. GNR and firefighters from Ílhavo were at the scene. The Judicial Police were immediately called to take over the investigation.

Once collected, the remains went to Aveiro’s Forensic Medicine to be analyzed. The authorities do not yet have concrete information, neither about the characteristics, nor the origin of the skull. But the first impressions indicate that it may be a corpse over five, perhaps ten. There seems to be signs that it is a male skull.

For now being the object of an anthropological and genetic analysis. The Judicial Police are therefore awaiting the results of these exams. However, it does not depart from now the hypothesis of a possible connection to the case of the missing pregnant woman in Murtosa.

Mónica Silva disappeared on October 3rd, 2023. She was at the pregnant time of seven months. The main suspect of the crime is Fernando Valente, who would have a love relationship with the victim. The beginning of the trial of the murder is scheduled for May 19 at the Aveiro Court.
