The government approved a set of measures aimed at simplifying the IRS statement, covering a larger number of taxpayers and reducing some declarative obligations. The changes have already been promulgated by the President of the Republic and apply to this year’s Declaration of Income.
Main changes in IRS
Among the changes introduced by the executive, the following points stand out:
1. Simplified income statement
Declaration of certain income subject to liberatory fees that are not encompassed for IRS purposes is no longer necessary.
The declarative regime of assets detained in jurisdictions with more favorable tax regimes is clarified, reinforcing legal certainty for taxpayers.

More taxpayers are covered by the IRS automatic statement, reducing the need for manual form.
IRS Automatic now contemplates the deduction of expenses with home service workers, allowing greater tax use by families resorting to these services.

According to the government, these measures aim to “ensure less bureaucracy, more simplicity and greater scope in automatic IRS.”
The simplification of the declarative regime, coupled with the widening of the universe of taxpayers covered by the automatic IRS, aims to increase the efficiency in tax settlement and reduce human error in filling the statements.
The Executive also stresses that the “greater legal certainty and efficiency in compliance with tax obligations” are at the center of these measures, allowing taxpayers greater predictability regarding their tax responsibilities.
Applicability and deadlines
Diplomas that realize these measures were promulgated by the President of the Republic and are in force.
Thus, taxpayers may already benefit from the changes to this year’s IRS declaration, whose delivery time is usually due between April 1 and June 30.
