The interim president of Romania, Ilie Bolojan, said that the country is a committed and reliable ally for Ukraine, after the US president, Donald Trump, stopped military aid to kyiv, according to .
Trump’s decision comes after a series of meetings at the White House with senior national security officials following the disastrous public meeting with the Ukrainian president, Volodimir Zelenski, last Viernres.
“NATO is our strongest pillar in defense and Romania remains a committed and reliable ally. We must increase investments to strengthen our defense capacity. Europeans and Americans must work in close collaboration to achieve fair and lasting peace in Ukraine,” Bolojan wrote in the social network X.
Ukraine now seeks in its European partners alternative to the supply of weapons that until now received from the US, whose decision to interrupt the flow of military aid has been applauded by the Kremlin as a positive step to force Ukrainians to accept a peace process.
