Women earn gross 18 percent less per hour

Vienna/Vösendorf – The wage differences between women and men in the private sector have decreased in Austria to 18.3 percent in recent years. In the EU comparison, Austria was the country with the second largest gender pay gap in 2023 behind Latvia (19 percent). In the EU average it is 12 percent.
