Albufeira took another important step in its promotion with the Spanish market. In a joint initiative between APAL – Albufeira Promotion Agency and the Municipality of Albufeira, two promotional actions were carried out on February 18 and 19, in Madrid and Seville, respectively.
Under the new tourist signature “Albufeira is part of his life”, this roadshow aimed to reinforce the region’s presence in the Spanish market, highlight his tourist offerings, especially outside the bathing season, and create new business opportunities for participating associates.
At the event held in Madrid, on 18 February, more than 50 participants, including travel agents and press representatives, were present. The action included a workshop that brought together local companies, a networking moment and the display of a promotional video of Albufeira.
The next day, February 19, the city of Seville received the initiative with 110 participants, also among travel agents and Spanish media. The event followed a format similar to Madrid, including a workshop focused on local companies and the participation of several APAL members. The night ended with a dinner that brought together several local personalities and featured the musical animation of singer César Matoso.
The realization of these promotional actions strengthened bilateral relationships and brought albufeira closer to companies and Spanish entities, consolidating the image of the county as an attractive tourist destination throughout the year.
In addition to the representation of Apal and the municipality of Albufeira, several local companies participated, including: Zoomarine, Park apartments, Algarxperience, AP Hotels, Luna Hotels, X Ride, Rocamar Hotels, Falésia Hotel, MGM Muthu Hotels, Algarveresorts, DHM, Real Hotels and Stayupon Hospitality Group.
For Desidério Silva, the balance of the initiative “is very positive because we brought an important number of companies, created business opportunities, promoted our potentialities and obtained an important media coverage, factors that, as a whole, are in the genesis of what is the function of Apal as an association with business vocation, linked to the promotion of our territory.”
The mayor of Albufeira, José Carlos Rolo, stressed the importance of the Spanish market for the county, stating that “it is essential that we can have a continuous relationship with this market of proximity whose importance and affinity it is important to highlight, and this is what we do with various initiatives and bilateral contacts throughout the year.”
Now, Apal and the Municipality of Albufeira are preparing to participate in the BTL-Lisbon Tourism Scholarship, which will take place from March 12 to 16, 2025, at Fil.
