The price of chicken eggs has generated repercussion among consumers. The 30 -unit pack has been high in commerce and can be found for an average of $ 30, in supermarkets, already on the streets, is costing an average of $ 22.

The professor of the Economics course at the Federal University of Acre (UFAC), Rubicleis Gomes, told Agazeta do Acre about the factors that may have influenced the high egg prices.
The economist cited three reasons, the first of them, the stress of chickens, caused by high temperatures in the state of Acre in recent months, which consequently impacts the reduction of egg production. As a result, the farms raised prices to maintain profit.
Another point observed by the teacher was the increase in demand for the product, mainly, mainly, the increase in meat price, making the consumer change the protein, increasing the demand for food.
The proximity to Holy Week can also be influencing the increase in egg price, according to the economist, as part of the population exchanges the meat for the egg at this time, generating a greater exit of the product.
The teacher stated that from April the item may decrease asking, however, if acrean farms are able to export to Peru, the state may be a new increase.
“Then we will have a production competition. The one that will serve the state and the one that will serve Peru. Since the Peruvian currency is highly valued in relation to the real, the tendency is that, given these conditions, the price of the egg remains high in our state.
