An unusual incident occurred at El Tepual International Airport in Puerto Montt, Chile, when a 29 -year -old passenger who had lost his flight ran to the track in an attempt to prevent the takeoff of a Latam Airlines plane.
The images show the man waving to the aircraft, apparently hoping to draw the pilots’ attention and be able to board the flight to the city of Concepción.
The situation caught the attention of airport employees, who rushed toward the man as he continued to gesture toward the plane. The safety of the airport was called and the passenger was removed from the track and arrested.
Puerto Montt Mayor Rodrigo Wainraihgt expressed concern about airport security measures in an interview with a local radio. “This certainly leads us to evaluate which policies are being implemented at the airport,” he said.
