The teenager Vitória Regina de Sousa, who was missing since February 26, was found dead on Wednesday (5) in a forest area in, in the metropolitan region of São Paulo. The Secretariat of Public Security reported that the already identified three suspects, including an ex-boyfriend of Vitória, who had an arrest warrant issued on the morning of Thursday (6). Investigations are being conducted under confidential, in order to clarify the motivation of the crime and identify all those responsible for the young woman’s brutal death.
The 17 -year -old’s body of Vitória was found in an advanced state of decomposition, which made immediate recognition difficult. However, the family was able to identify the body on site, and expert examinations were required to confirm the identity and circumstances of death. According to the family lawyer, Fábio Costa, the body had abrasions, suggesting that the young woman was the victim of violence.
The disappearance investigation began shortly after the young woman’s disappearance, who worked at a mall restaurant in Cajamar. Safety cameras images captured Victoria heading for a bus stop, where she confided to a friend that she was afraid of being followed by some men.
To date, more than 11 people have been heard during the investigations, and two vehicles have been seized for analysis. Family lawyer, Fábio Costa, believes that the crime was not an act of opportunity, but motivated by passionate or revenge. Vitória’s last contact was with a boy with whom she had a sporadic relationship. He claimed to be sleeping when he received a victory message asking for help, but the police investigate a possible contradiction in his statement, as there is evidence that he would be with another young woman at the time.
