Two of the injured are in serious condition
Fifteen people were injured in South Korea on Thursday, after the combat planes were mistakenly thrown in a civil neighborhood, damaging houses and a church during military exercise in Pocheon, advances to Reuters that quotes the Air Force and the firefighters.
Gyeonggi-do Bukbu’s firefighters said in a statement that 15 people were injured, two of which are gravity.
According to the South Korea Air Force, eight 225-pound MK82 pumps launched by KF-16 Jacts fell off the field of shooting during royal set exercises.
“We regret the damage caused by the abnormal fall accident and wished a quick recovery to the injured,” the Air Force said in a statement.
Pocheon is about 40 kilometers northeast of Seoul, near the strongly militarized border with North Korea, and residents of the zone have been protesting against the disturbance and potential danger of nearby training camps.
The residents were taken from the scene so that the authorities would verify if there were still bombs that could explode.
South and US Korea start annual military exercises next week
South Korean and American troops start set-up annual military exercises next week, Seoul announced days after North Korea threatens with high level demonstrations against what he called the US-led aggression climb.
