The stoppage, convened by FNSTFPS, aims to claim the review of careers, the maintenance of functional specificity, the appreciation for antiquity and the remuneration.
The Institute of Forensic Medicine, the IPMA or the Directorate-General for Reinsertion and Prison Services will be services affected by Thursday’s strike of workers from non-magazine and subsistence of public administration, anticipated Sebastião Santana to Lusa.
At question is a strike of workers of non -magazine and subsisting careers, which is not “the largest number of workers in public administration”, are in services “that will be affected,” explains Sebastião Santana, coordinator of the National Federation of Workers Unions in Public and Social Functions ().
This is the case of the Institute of Forensic Medicine, the Portuguese Institute of Sea and the Atmosphere (IPMA), the State Directorate-General Laboratories and Prison Services or the Watchers of Nature, for examples, the union leader, added that the stoppage will cover “dozen careers” regarding a vast worker set, namely states, researchers, superior health technicians, or observes. Meteorological pains, among others.
“The impact on the general public will be difficult to measure,” since “in many of these services there is no service to the classic public,” admits the FNSTFPS coordinator, stressing that, still, the expectation is that “there will be good adhesion”.
Workers require equal treatment than other careers with the same qualifications
The strike, convened by FNSTFPS, affects CGTP, began at midnight and is extended until 23:59, covering the central administration.
Among the main claims of this Federation is the immediate opening of negotiations for the review of all non -magazine and subsistence careers of the maintenance of the functional specificity of careers, the application to all workers of valorization by seniority and remuneration.
“What we demand is that these careers are not treated differently than they are others with the same academic qualifications,” says Sebastião Santana, noting that “this requires, in many cases, the appreciation of careers and the assignment of compensatory measures, among others, the freezing of careers, which were attributed to the general careers that were to these subsisting careers.”
On the other hand, there are “concrete cases” where, in addition to remuneration, “it is also necessary to ensure that there are no relative injustices,” says the union leader, referring for example to careers in which he is required to have “degrees to enter”, and that “they are not at the same level as general careers, (but) are at lower levels”.
