The Carnival Block Unidos do Fuxico manifested publicly on Wednesday (5) after being disqualified from the Rio Branco Carnival Blocks Contest.
According to the organization of the event, the group failed to comply with rules of the notice by parading with abbas that stamped the name of a deputy, which characterizes political propaganda.
According to Leandro Souza, contest coordinator, an application was presented with evidence of the irregularity, resulting in the immediate elimination of the block. “By non -compliance with the block, they were automatically disqualified. In the abbot of the revelers wing, it is named after a deputy, ”he explained.
The decision generated great repercussion between revelers and supporters of Unidos do Fuxico, which went to social networks to express indignation and support to the block. In the comments of the group’s official publication, many praised the parade and stressed that the bloc is still one of the public’s favorites. Some demonstrations also requested review of the rules so that situations like this do not occur again.
Given the elimination, the bloc said it called its legal department to try to reverse the decision.
In an official note, the board expressed surprise and indignation with the disqualification and claimed that there was “bad faith” by some involved in the process. “We are taking all the measures to correct this injustice and ensure that the truth prevails,” the association said.
The note also stressed that Unidos do Fuxico has always acted with seriousness and respect for the rules of Carnival and will continue to firm in its mission to promote popular revelry.

The Carnival Block Unidos do Fuxico received with surprise and deep indignation the news of its disqualification in the Carnival Block contest. Our association, which has contributed to the carnival culture of our city for decades, has always guided its performance in seriousness, respect for the rules and commitment to popular revelry.
Given this decision, we are in contact with our legal department to analyze all appropriate measures and seek reversal of this situation as fairly as possible.
We regret that this disqualification was the result of the bad faith of some involved in the process, unjustly compromising the trajectory of Unidos do Fuxico in Carnival. We always participate in the contest with transparency and respect for the norms, and we cannot allow unfair attitudes to harm the hard work of our community. Therefore, we are taking all the measures to correct this injustice and ensure that the truth prevails.
