With environmental agenda, CNBB launches the fraternity campaign

This year’s theme is “Fraternity and Integral Ecology”; event is a way for the Catholic Church in Brazil to celebrate the period of Lent

The CNBB (National Conference of Bishops of Brazil) launched this gray fair (5.mar.2025) the 2025 Fraternity Campaign. This year’s theme is “Fraternity and Integral Ecology”. Already the biblical motto chosen for the campaign and extracted from the book of Genesis is: “God saw that everything was very good”.

In a statement, the CNBB pointed out that the campaign was inspired by the publication of Pope Francis’ Encyclical Letter Laudato Si which, in 2025, turns 10; In the 800 years of the composition of the Song of Creatures of St. Francis of Assisi; and in COP30 (30th Conference of the Parties), which will be held in November in Belém (Pará).

“The general objective of the campaign is to promote, in a leary spirit and in times of urgent socio -environmental crisis, a process of integral conversion, listening to the cry of the poor and the earth.”said the entity.

Celebrated nationally since 1964, the Fraternity Campaign, according to CNBB, is a way for the Catholic Church in Brazil to celebrate the period of Lent, in preparation for Easter, with prayer attitudes, fasting and charity.

“The highlight of the campaign is the collection of solidarity, held in all communities of Brazil on Sunday of Ramos – this year, on April 12 and 13. Resources are intended for social projects across the country”, Said the CNBB.

CNBB also released a –What has been hospitalized since February 14 – Due to the 2025 Fraternity Campaign. In the document, the Pontiff praises what it calls “Effort in proposing the theme of ecology, along with the desired personal conversion to Christ”.
