In another significant step towards digital inclusion in Acre, Senator Alan Rick (União Brasil) and Porto Walter Mayor César Andrade (PP) celebrated the installation of three new free and high speed internet points in municipal schools. This achievement is the result of Senator Alan Rick’s nominations to the Ministry of Communications, through the Wi-Fi Brazil program, which aims to bring satellite connectivity to remote regions of the country.
Since the beginning of his term, Alan Rick has stood out as a tireless defender of expanding internet access throughout the state. As coordinator of the federal bench, he led the approval and implementation of Infovia, a fiber optic network that will interconnect acrean municipalities along BRS 364 and 317. The initial investment indicated by Alan and the other parliamentarians of the bench was R $ 5.4 million, in addition to the counterpart of the federal government.

“We need to solve structuring problems so that our state reaches the long -awaited development. The internet is one of these challenges. Ensuring quality connection, we will be able to reduce the difficulties generated by the distance and isolation, ”said the senator.
The new Wi-Fi points installed in rural Porto Walter benefit Antonio Julierme, at Gleba Minas, Francisco Jandes, in the Besouro and Gabriel Arcanjo branch, in Rio Natal.
In his social networks, Mayor César Andrade expressed his gratitude for partnership with Alan Rick and highlighted the importance of these initiatives for the future of students. “There is no better feeling than using politics as an instrument of social transformation,” said Andrade.
The mayor also emphasized that these actions not only connect students to the world, but also help reduce cultural and social inequalities.
With the senator’s support, at least 80% of Porto Walter schools will soon be connected to the internet. In addition, new points are expected to be installed in rural, urban and indigenous schools, as well as health posts and vocational technical centers in all 22 Acre municipalities. The senator’s nominations were made after listening to public managers, leaders and the population of all Acre.
