The Parliamentary Front of Agriculture (FPA) called “ineffective” A on Thursday, 6, to try to lower food prices. In a statement, the entity argues that the most efficient means to combat high food prices is harvesting the crop, which occurs in the coming months, and the correction of actions that impact the production cost in the country.
“The measures presented by the federal government, on Thursday, are punctual and ineffective for immediate effect, especially when spending internal appeal by zeroing taxes for imported products, without ensuring reinforcement to the support of Brazilian production,” says the note.
The entity assesses that it is essential to initiate the negotiations of the new Plan 2025/2026, guaranteeing the total implementation of resources and full access and with interest appropriate to rural producers.

The FPA states that the inflation problem is not linked to the supply of food. “The federal government tries to create the narrative of seeking solutions, when the problem is concentrated in its own fiscal imbalance, responsible for burdening costs and leveraging inflation.”
The entity’s argument is that it is not with the transfer of the burden of playing the imbalance of public accounts to farmers that food will be cheaper and there will be economically viable production.
