Cassava price drops at the lowest level since September

Fall of 12.6% in February 2025 is motivated by high supply and interest to producers to release areas for new plantations

The price of cassava in Brazil registered a 12.6% drop in February 2025, compared to the previous month, reaching the lowest level since September 2024.

The high offer, motivated by the producers’ interest in capitalizing and releasing areas for new plantations, has driven the reduction.

The information was released on Wednesday (5.mar.2025) by the (Center for Advanced Studies in Applied Economics) of USP (University of São Paulo).

From February 24 to 28, the average nominal price for the ton of cassava delivered to the feculary was $ 560.20.

It is a 1.5% low compared to the previous week. This price retraction movement marks the 8th consecutive week of falling.
