This Friday (7), several capitals record significant maximums: Porto Alegre with 37 ° C, Rio de Janeiro with 34 ° C, and São Paulo with 33 ° C. Other cities such as Florianópolis, Belo Horizonte, Campo Grande, Salvador and Natal also have temperatures between 30 ° C and 33 ° C.
Arrival from the cold front
The cold front should first reach south of the country on Saturday (8), initially reaching Porto Alegre. The weather system is considered strong and has the potential to advance to other regions, bringing rain and significantly reducing temperatures next week.
According to forecasts, the temperature drop will be more pronounced in the south-central of Brazil.
In some areas, the maximum may fall from 8 to 11 degrees compared to current values. For example, Porto Alegre should only register 28 ° C on Sunday.
Other capitals will also feel the effects of the cold front. In Curitiba, the maximum temperature should drop from 32 ° C on Sunday to 21 ° C on Thursday. São Paulo will see its maximum decrease from 33 ° C this weekend to 23 ° C next Thursday. In Rio de Janeiro, the drop will be 36 ° C to 28 ° C.
Rain and Temporal
In addition to the drop in temperatures, the cold front will bring rainfall for several regions. This Friday (7), thunderstorms are already expected in states like Acre, Amazonas and Rondôniaas well as in the coastal range that goes from Ceará to Amapá.
In these areas, rain showers can be accompanied by a wind, with gusts up to 100 km/h.
The intertropical convergence zone is pointed out as responsible for the most closed time in the northern region, carrying moisture and causing heavy rain when in contact with heat. In Rio Branco, for example, the forecast is over 20 mm of rain this Friday alone.
