According to Czech President Petr Paul, in the pursuit of peace in the war in Ukraine, it will be necessary to achieve a compromise without being completely defeated by one or the other side of the conflict. The compromise is also the acceptance of the fact that it is currently not possible to free all the occupied territories of Ukraine without a significant loss of the lives of its soldiers. But at the same time it would Europe was supposed to provide as strongest as possible security guarantees and continue to integrate it first into the EU and NATO. The Czech President said this on Thursday in an interview at the CT24 station on the occasion of the two -year anniversary in the position of Head of State, says TASR newsletter in Prague.

“Belding that Russia would be satisfied with part of Ukraine and have left developments in Europe to the EU, or NATO, is indeed naivety, and it means that we are closing our eyes in front of an objective reality,” He thinks Pavel. According to him, his hybrid activities in Europe will continue at different intensity and it is on individual states how they will be able to effectively deter Russia to continue it. Reiterated that permanent peace is an illusion. “Not only does peace are always temporary, but its justice is also relative to some extent,” He noted that it should be as fair as possible for Ukraine. He imagines a confession of reality on the battlefield.

“Without being completely defeated, one or the other is a compromise. But the compromise in relation to the aggressor should be from my point of view that we accept as a fact that At this point, it is not possible to free all the occupied areas without any major losses in the lives of the Ukrainians, ” said the Czech president. He added, however, that Europe should give Ukraine the strongest security guarantees and continue to integrate it first into the EU and NATO.

He also pointed out that the current EU was not ready for a deeper crisis, but is exposed to “nice weather”. “Europe is not a community for defense and security, but for mutual cooperation … Today, we are in a situation where we face the unprecedented security risk by Russia, on the other hand, on the other hand we are facing US pressure, whether economic or perhaps that they will leave us in the safety. We have no choice but to wake up very quickly, ” He added Pavel.
