Launch occurred on Thursday (6.mar) around 6.30 pm, US time, in Boca Chica, Texas
The Starship rocket exploded in the space minutes after its launch, which took place in Texas, United States, on Thursday (6.mar.2025). According to Reutersthe fall of the aircraft wreckage caused the temporary interruption of air traffic in parts of Florida, which affected Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Palm Beach and Orlando.
The release took place around 6:30 pm, US time, in Boca Chica, Texas. The 1st stage of the rocket, Super Heavy, returned to Earth as planned. However, the upper stage began to rotate in the space, indicating shutdown engines.
Spacex said it lost contact with the ship after a “Unscheduled disassembly”. The fiery wreckage could be seen in the sky near the south of Florida and the Bahamas. Records were shared on social networks.

This was the 8th Starship test, following a similar failure in the 7th test. The purpose of the company is to send the capsule to Mars to make human travel to the planet viable later this decade.
