Czech cuisine is not only delicious dumplings, stew and fried cheese, but also … baked tea. This natural drink has an unusual way of preparing, but is perfect for the winter, because it warms the body from the first sip.

It is healthy and tastes great, which is why it is often recommended for tourists in local cafes. However, you do not have to go on a trip abroad to see how much it has to offer. Prepare “Pečený Čaj” yourself according to a proven recipe.

Roast tea It is an aromatic drink that will certainly not cause you problems. The name can be misleading, because you do not need tea leaves to prepare it.

Its base is fruit and spicy aromatic spices, thanks to which the former gain a more intense taste. Regardless of whether you add sugar to tea or avoid it, baked tea will definitely taste. You can prepare it both from and without this add -on.

Ingredients for baked tea:

  • Fruits – 1 kg (apples, plums, pears, oranges, raspberries, blueberries or other as desired)
  • Lemon or orange juice – 100 ml
  • Cinnamon, cloves, ginger, anise
  • sugar/ honey/ none

The recipe for baked tea in Czech is simple. Start by washing and cutting fruit into quarters (of course the larger ones, because raspberries, blueberries do not require it).

Later, spread them on a baking tray lined with baking paper and sprinkle with citrus juice. Then Fr.Sprinkle with spices. Bake them at 180 degrees Celsius for about 40 minutes, stirring every few minutes.
