In this sense, Coughlin asked the West to “not be fooled: Putin is weak and is desperate for peace,” he said. And to reinforce it, he pointed out some data such as the devastating impact of the war on the Russian economy, which has caused an increase in the interest rate of up to 21%, something that is having a direct impact on the population.
For all these reasons, Coughlin argues that Putin has supported Trump immediately and alleges that an unequivocal symptom that Moscow is searching for an ‘way’ of the conflict is the response to mediate between Iran and the United States about Tehran’s nuclear program.
On the other hand, Coughlin referred to the possibility that has been opened regarding the presence of European troops in Ukraine, something that would mean a “true disaster” for Putin, according to the journalist, and recalled that the Kremlin already called a statement of “confrontation” the ‘threat of Macron about sending troops to kyiv.
And finally, he insisted on the idea that Putin will sit down with Trump immediately and from a “weakness.”
