Admiral Almir Garnier is quoted by the PF as the only commander of the forces he would have adhered to the attempted coup d’état
Admiral Almir Garnier presented to (Supreme Federal Court) on Friday (7.mar.2025) his defense against the complaint of the (Attorney General’s Office). The lawyers deny the accusations and claim that the former Navy commander is innocent.
According to investigations by (Federal Police), Almir Garnier went to make himself available to the former president (PL) to prevent the inauguration of (PT) in 2023.
The investigation states that the admiral is to mobilize navy troops if Bolsonaro demanded, while the aeronautics and army commanders refused to participate in the operation.
PGR denounced Garnier and 33 others, including Bolsonaro, for the crimes of criminal organization, violent abolition of the democratic rule of law, qualified damage e Heritage deterioration.
