Wladimir Matos Soares’ defense tells the Supreme Court that the PGR report used “excessive and unreasonable creativity in serious criminal proceedings”
Federal police officer Wladimir Matos Soares denied this Friday (7.mar.2025) to (Supreme Federal Court) acted as about the security of the president (PT) during the transition from government.
The policeman was denounced by (Attorney General’s Office) in the inquiry that investigates an attempted coup and sent his defense to the STF.
According to the prosecution, Wladimir Matos passed on information about Lula on November 13, 2022. He was part of the external security team responsible for the surroundings of the hotel where the president was during the transition. It has been arrested since November last year.
In the demonstration, the defense argues that the PF (Federal Police) agent was scheduled to work on the external security of the hotel and did not act as “Infiltrate”and that his job was to identify who entered the security perimeter.
“The narrative that he would have infiltrated security is totally really devoid. The truth is that the Federal Police climbed the policeman and postponed the beginning of his vacation to help coordinate the fixed safety of hotels at the possession event ”says the defense.
The lawyers also added that the complaint used “Excessive and unreasonable creativity in serious criminal proceedings”by stating that he adhered to the attempted coup.
“The distorted conclusion of the truth presented by the accusation that the federal agent passed on information sensitive to members of the government of Jair Messias Bolsonaro, is a logical leap devoid of foundation.”says the defense.
The deadline for delivery of the defense of most accused ended on Thursday (6.mar) at 11:59 pm. The lawyers of 17 of the 34 accused presented the written defense to the Supreme Court.
After the delivery of all defenses, the judgment of the complaint will be marked by the STF.
