Women’s musical artists composed Only 37% of the artists present at the main musical stop Billboard Hot 100 in the year 2024. The data are from the research “Inclusion in the Recording Studio?”carried out the United States.
According to the report, women represented 37.7% of artists at the parade. The increase was small compared to 2023 (35%).
The study shows that the advance is still little, as the female population of the United States is at least half of the total number of inhabitants in the country (50.4%).
Gender disparity is evident mainly in composition. .
The male artists (Max Martin e Dr. Luke no topo) who are more credited on the charts have more songs on the charts in 12 years than all artists in the same ranking, except two of the most credited women, Nicki Minaj E in this order. These exceed at least three of them (DJ Mustard, JKash e Louis Bell).
Of the 12 men gathered in the research, Seven still have the largest number of music composition credits at the stop than Nicki Minaj.
Less than 1% (0.6%) or seven songs did not give credit to at least one man on composer paper.
