Baianasystem shakes multitude in the post-carnival of São Paulo

O postStreet Carnival of São Paulo stirred a crowd of revelers this Saturday (8) with the band Pirate Block, from the band Baianasystemin the region of Ibirapuera Park, in the south of São Paulo.

With the theme “Balacobaco – the world goes around”, the concentration of the block was scheduled at 14h, the procession began at 15h. The band started the show with the track “Let the Gira Gira” and asked the thousands of revelers to raise their hands and sing together.

The singer also performed at the block and recalled to celebrate women’s day with the revelers.

The band created in Salvador, in 2009, mixes the reggae Sound System with the Bahian guitar resulting in the mix of the genus Jamaican with Afro-Brazilian rhythms.

Paulistano carnival in numbers

This year’s São Paulo Carnival impresses with the amount of events. Considering the entire period, which includes pre-carnival, carnival itself and “After”, the city records more than 670 street blocks.

This significant number of events demonstrates how São Paulo has consolidated itself as an important destination for revelers during Carnival, challenging the city’s old perception as the “tomb of samba”.
