BBC faces criticism for removing film about Gaza – 07/03/2025 – New on sheet

The BBC decision of generated strong repercussion among media and British professionals. The film was removed on February 21, four days after its publication, along with one.

The station justified the decision stating that “lost confidence” in after discovering that the narrator, a 13 -year -old boy, is the son of a terrorist organization officer.

“‘Gaza: How to survive a war zone’ presents important stories that we believe should be told – the children’s experiences in Gaza. Issues continue to arise and, in the light, we are making more consultations with the production company. The program will not be available until it is occurring.”

Last Tuesday, the BBC admitted that it should have investigated the boy’s connections better and said it is conducting an internal analysis to clarify the case. Davie did not rule out the possibility of the documentary aired after the investigation.

An internal review pointed out that Hoyo Films, an independent producer responsible for the documentary, has paid a “small amount of money” to a boy’s family member. The producer denies any transfer to Hamas and said she was cooperating with the broadcaster to clarify any production flaws.

The president of the station, Samir Shah, acknowledges that the case affects the credibility of the vehicle and promised an independent revision of the coverage of the. Meanwhile, of the British Communication Regulator, said it may intervene if BBC investigation is not considered satisfactory.
