United States Republicans presented on Saturday (8), a bill of spending that would guarantee the financing of federal agencies by September 30, adopting an independent strategy that should lead to confrontation with the Democrats.
The project foresees an increase in defense programs and reduction in defense -related areas, which should be rejected by Democrats, who advocate a balance between the two types of spending. Congress needs to act until Friday (14), to avoid a partial government stoppage.
With 99 pages, the project allocates US $ 892.5 billion for defense and US $ 708 billion for defense -related programs, with a reduction of 8% in the latter.

The text does not include financing for specific projects requested by legislators, known as “Earmarks”, which benefit local regions or interests, and also does not cover most government spending, such as social security and Medicare, which are automatically funded.
The mayor, Republican Mike Johnson, prepares the bill for Tuesday (11), challenging Democrats to vote against and risk a “shutdown” of the government.
Although Republicans usually need Democratic votes to approve bills, they are confident of being able to approve the measure alone.

Trump
The strategy is supported by US President Donald Trump, who has kept the aligned republicans.
This week, in a Post at Truth Social, Trump said that “conservatives will love this project, because he prepares us to cut taxes, while effectively freezing spending this year and allows us to continue our work to do great America again.”
Republicans expect this year’s spending resolution to make efforts to extend Trump tax reductions and increase debt limit.

Democratic leaders warn that advancing without consulting them increases the risk of a stoppage, highlighting the flexibility given to the Trump government regarding spending as one of its greatest concerns.
