Morocco is scheduled reinforce their armed forces with the inclusion of two submarines that would become the first with which the country has. Regarding the origin of the submersibles, which were initially going to be supplied by Germany or France, they will probably come from Russia, something that has not sat very well among the rest of competing powers for the contract.
Specifically, the Navy of Morocco would be considering the possibility of buying Russian submarines of the latest generation of the AMUR class. It should be noted that the relations between the two countries have improved over time, so it is quite likely that in the end the agreement of the Putin country will end up taking the agreement.
Some of the reasons for this approaches are geopolitical changes or international tensions, which have favored Russia to strengthen their role as an ally for many Africa countries, as is the case of Morocco.
