(Bloomberg) – Four Premier League teams will play at Soldier Field in Chicago in the summer of the northern hemisphere as part of the league tournament in three American cities. Everton will face West Ham United and Manchester United will confront AFC Bournemouth on Wednesday, July 30, in Chicago, NBC, a premier League broadcast partner on Sunday (9).

Chicago is the only new city in this year’s tournament. The other matches will be held at Metlife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, and at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.

“This event will show Chicago’s beauty and diversity to viewers from around the world and demonstrate our ability to host major high -level events of all varieties,” said Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson in a press release.

This is the second time the League has been Summer Series in the US, the first in 2023. More than 265,000 fans watched Premier League teams compete during that tournament, according to the statement.

The announcement follows the news that the city will host an international Rugby match between New Zealand’s All Blacks and Ireland’s National Rugby National Team on Soldier Field on November 1st.

The events are part of Chicago’s attempt to attract more tourism with major events, following recent efforts such as Nascar races, Lollapalooza Music Festival and last year’s Democratic National Convention.
