The federal deputy (-SP) assumed the general secretary of the presidency lit a warning to part of his party companions and, if materialized, can intensify the internal conflicts of the acronym.
PSOL houses divergences on the adherence to functions in the executive. Part of the caption defends more independence, while others see participation as natural.
“It is clearly contradictory. PSOL’s decision was clear not to compose government, and this is well written in the resolution approved in December 2022,” says Mrs Fernanda Melchionna (PSOL-RS).
Despite the guidance, part of the psoalists do not oppose the appointment, such as Deputy Talíria Petrone (PSOL-RJ), who says it is natural that the party wins space, as it became one of the most relevant acronyms on the left. “This discussion has been happening since the beginning of the government. I am more concerned with what will be in Brazil,” he says.
The acronym is experiencing a climate of crack marked by the resignation of a party advisor in and by public clashes between their leaders, the result of disputes involving government support.
Part of the deputies is bothered, for example, with the lack of public positions of colleagues who vote against austerity measures, but do not confront the government. Congressmen heard by Sheet They claim to be concerned with displeasing the plateau.
The clash gained prominence last month after the economist said he was fired from PSOL’s leadership in the House for political reasons. Critic of the government’s economic agenda, he expressed discontent on social networks.
Deccache is from a minority wing of the party that encompasses more radical currents. The main one is the Mes (left socialist movement), which participated in the Foundation of PSOL and preaches independence in relation to the Plateau.
Deputies of this block or aligned with him voted against the resignation of the economist in early February: Fernanda Melchionna (RS), Glauber Braga (RJ), Sâmia Bomfim (SP), (SP) and Chico Alencar (RJ).
Of these, Fernanda Melchionna, Glauber Braga and Sâmia are considered from the minority wing, while the deans Erundina and Chico Alencar are considered by colleagues as independent.
Among those who voted in favor of the dismissal were Guilherme Boulos (SP), Celia Xakriabá (MG), (SP), Ivan Valente (SP), Pastor Henrique Vieira, (RJ), Luciene Cavalcante (SP), Talíria Petrone (RJ) and Tarcísio Motta (RJ). All considered members of the majority block.
This group denied, in a statement, that the economist’s dismissal occurred for political differences, accusing him of making public attacks on party congressmen and subtitle president, Paula Coradi-what he denies.
Asked, the party’s management said that the leadership of the House bench has autonomy to define its advisors and that it is not for her to interfere with decisions of hiring or dismissal of personnel, which she defines as purely bureaucratic acts.
Exchange of accusations
The internal crisis goes back to the PSOL in 2023, when the group formed by the current solidarity revolution (led by Boulos), socialist spring (former president Juliano Medeiros) and allies O Mes (from state deputy Luciana Genro).
Current President Paula Coradi, linked to the same group of Juliano Medeiros, was elected at the time with a government approach project.
The minority accuses the other side of authoritarianism. It says that co -religionists oppose to give up spaces of power proportional to the size of the wing and complains about the lack of dialogue and transparency.
“The militancy decides nothing. There is no internal democracy in their organization. And they want to do the same thing with PSOL, [impor] A top -down organization where leadership rules and militancy obeys, as if cattle were, “says Deccache.
“This episode [de demissão] It is not isolated. It reflects the policy of the party’s majority sector, directed by Guilherme Boulos, which combines adherence to governism with authoritarianism, “says an editorial of Movement magazine, linked to the Mes group.
The thesis of the deputies of the majority is that the controversy was manufactured, bringing public debate that should be internal.
“It’s a serious mistake that part of the left does not understand the risks of the far-right advance here and worldwide and have its horizon limited to internal disputes,” says the group of Boulos, in a statement.
Boulos’ staff said the deputy would not comment on the matter and sent the note signed by the majority.
Deputies of the minority wing who talked to the report denied the possibility of leaving the party at this time. The exception is Glauber Rocha, who said he had opened a discussion with his own team to decide whether to continue.
The internal division in PSOL is regarded by some as a factor capable of shaking the party’s unity, which was also born of a split due to differences with the Lula administration.
In the first petista management (2003-2006), there was a clash between sectors of the most aligned with the Plateau and the most critical wings, especially the conduct of economic policy. In the last group were the then parliamentarians Babá, Heloísa Helena, João Fontes and Luciana Genro.
Considered radical, congressmen were expelled from the party for voting against the public pension reform government proposal in 2003. In response, these dissidents, along with other left -wing militants dissatisfied with the PT directions, founded PSOL in 2004.
