Shortbread croissants with apples. The perfect dessert for afternoon coffee

If you fancy something sweet and you lack an idea what you could bake, be sure to prepare Shortbread croissants with apples from our recipe. Cinnamon makes them smell beautiful, and nuts give them exceptional crunchiness. Apple apple stages have been varied with a lemon notewhich gives it a unique aroma. Such croissants will be a delicious snack for afternoon coffee or tea. It certainly won’t end with one piece.

Before you take on baking, prepare the following ingredients:

  • 3 medium -sized apple,
  • 50 g of cancreat sugar,
  • 1 teaspoon of cinnamon,
  • 80 g of walnuts,
  • 1 lemon,
  • 250 g of soft butter,
  • 1 tablespoon of natural yogurt,
  • 400 g of wheat flour,
  • 30 g of powdered sugar (+ for decoration),
  • 1 teaspoon of baking powder.

Watch the skin with carefully washed lemon. Squeeze the juice from it. Peel the apples and grate on a large grater. Sprinkle with lemon juice. Combine with cane sugar mixed with cinnamon.

Transfer the apples to the pan and fry until soft (for about 10 minutes on a medium power burner). Set aside to cool. Finely chop nuts. Mix them thoroughly with cooled apples.

Mix the flour, powdered sugar and baking powder in a large bowl. Add butter to them, a full tablespoon of yogurt and lemon peel. Mix with your fingertips – to combine the ingredients into loose lumps. Transfer them to a board and knead into a uniform, smooth dough. Cool them for half an hour in the fridge.

Roll out the dough into a large rectangle on a flour -covered board. For convenience, you can divide the dough into smaller portions and roll each one in turn. Cut the rectangles into small squares – so as to get 40-50.

Place a small portion of stuffing on each piece of dough. Form croissants, sticking to the opposite corners of the squares. Place them on a baking tray lined with baking paper (spread the baking into two turns to keep the spacing between the croissants).

Put the baking tray into the oven preheated to 180 ° C. Bake for about 20 minutes – until the croissants are browned. Sprinkle with powdered sugar.
