The São Paulo court decided to maintain the arrest of one of the suspects involved in the tragic case of the murder of Vitória Regina de Souza, a 17 -year -old, in the metropolitan region of São Paulo. Victoria was kidnapped on February 26, while returning from work, and her body was found a week later, showing signs of violence. The Cajamar Civil Police arrested Michael Antônio Sales dos Santos, owner of a car that was seen near the place where Vitória disappeared after he submitted contradictions in his statement. Michael underwent a custody hearing and a crime examination, remaining temporarily.

During field investigations, the teams were able to locate where the girl was taken before she was murdered, and the expertise was immediately called to collect evidence. Diligences continued on Sunday, searching for images of security cameras that can help elucidate the case.

So far, more than ten people have been heard, and the Civil Police have requested the temporary arrest of another suspect, Daniel Lucas Pereira. However, the request was denied by the court, although the judge authorized searches and seizures in the residences of the two suspects. The Secretariat of Public Security reported that new arrest requests can be made throughout the week as the Civil Police advance in investigations.
