The new minister of the Secretariat of Institutional Relations (SRI), Gleisi Hoffman, received leaders from the government and the PT for a lunch, on Monday (10), at the Planalto Palace, to discuss the priorities of the government in the National Congress.
Gleisi’s first mission, as responsible for Lula’s political articulation, will be to ensure the approval of the 2025 budget. During the meeting, the minister aligned with government leaders the expectations for voting on the text, which will be presented next week on the Joint Budget Commission (CMO).
The meeting was attended by the government leaders: Deputy José Guimarães (PT-CE), Senator Jacques Wagner (PT-BA) and Senator Randolfe Rodrigues (PT-AP). Also invited were the PT leaders in the House and Senate, Odair Cunha (PT-MG) and Rogério Carvalho (PT-SE).
The meeting preceded the ceremony, scheduled for 15h. During the event, the former chief of the folder, Alexandre Padilha, will be made official as Minister of Health, replacing Nísia Trindade, fired by President Lula last month.
The SRI meeting with the leaders was already part of the weekly routine in the management of Padilha and was the first under the leadership of the former PT president.
Impasse in the budget
The 2025 budget debate in Congress was locked due to clashes around the payment of parliamentary amendments. After the agreement is approved by the Federal Supreme Court, the text of the rapporteur, Senator Angelo Colonel (PSD-BA), will be expected to be presented and voted for the Joint Budget Commission (CMO) next week
Until then, members of the Commission and leaders discuss points still pending negotiation, such as the Pé-Degena Program, the target of analysis by the Federal Court of Audit; The resources of the Gas Valley; and compliance with the criteria established by the Federal Supreme Court (STF) for the payment of parliamentary amendments.
