The Guinness World Records, the Book of Records, declared the 18 -year -old Indian Lalit Patida the man with the most hairy face in the world. Due to a rare dermatological syndrome, the boy has hair in about 95% of his face, totaling 201.72 hair strands per square centimeter on the face.

The condition is called hypertrichosis, also known as “werewolf syndrome”. It is characterized by the exacerbated growth of hair in areas of the body where human beings in general do not have. In the case of Patidar, only the eye and mouth region are free from the growth of the hair.
Caused due to a genetic mutation, hypertrichosis is so rare that there are only records of about 50 cases like this in the world since the Middle Ages. The syndrome has no cure, but it is possible to alleviate the situation through methods such as wax, blades and laser.
Lalit’s diagnosis occurred during his childhood, when he already faced prejudice due to his condition.
– The children were afraid of me, but when they started meeting me and talking to me, they understood that I was not so different from them, and that it was just outside that I looked different, but I am no different inside. There is not much to tell people about it. I tell them that I like how I am and I don’t want to change my appearance, ”he told Guinness.
The news about the record came after the Indian consulted with a trichologist, who calculated the amount of wires on his face as he shave small parts and make measurements of the distance from the hair with each other. Upon receiving the news that he was the man with the most hairy face in the world, he claimed to be “speechless” and “very happy” with recognition.
