It today denounced Israel’s “unacceptable blackmail” who decided to stop providing electricity to new negotiations to continue the truce.

“We categorically condemn the decision (of Israel) to cut the electricity to Gaza after depriving it of food, medicines and water,” Islam al-Chris, a member of the Islamist Palestinian movement, said in a statement, denouncing “a small and unacceptable policy”.

The decision was announced on Sunday by Energy Minister Eli Cohen, a week after the pressure on Hamas.

“I sign the order to immediately stop the supply of electricity to the Gaza Strip,” he says in a short video. “We will use all the tools we have at our disposal to bring back all the hostages and to ensure that Hamas will no longer be in Gaza on the day after” war, he added, while Israel and the Islamist Palestinian movement are overwhelmed that they are violating the 19th.

The only electricity line between Israel and Gaza supplies the main water desalination plant on this Palestinian soil, which ensures the water supply of more than 600,000 people. Gaza residents are mainly dependent on photovoltaics and gasoline generators for their electricity.
