The assignment of municipal facilities to the Association of Hotel, Restoration and Similar from Portugal (AHRESP) was formalized last Friday through the signing of a protocol between the Albufeira City Council and this entity.
The space provided by the municipality has an area of approximately 82m² and is located at the top of the P1 parking lot, next to the Pau da Bandeira viewpoint. The agreement provides for the assignment of lending facilities for a period of five years, with the possibility of renewal for equal periods.
During the ceremony, the mayor, José Carlos Rolo, stressed that “this is a partnership that has been coming for a long time, and that has worked in a balanced way between two partners who actively contribute.” For the mayor, the new infrastructure will be essential to strengthen support for entrepreneurs “this is an extremely active county in the area of tourism”.
The event was also attended by AHRESP representatives, who took the opportunity to present the association’s activities. Ahresp President Carlos Moura justified the choice of Albufeira for the opening of the new Operations Center, stating that “where is the bulk of the business fabric in the region.”
The official thanked the support of the municipality and explained that the intention of the association now goes through “radiating to the whole Algarve what we do”.
With this new space in Albufeira, AHRESP members now have a closer support point, reinforcing the presence of the organization in the south of the country. The president of the Association stressed that this opening is part of a broader strategy for the territorial expansion of the Association of Hospitality, Restoration and Similar of Portugal. “AHRESP currently has 16 delegations spread throughout the national territory, and the plan is to cover all districts,” he added.
During the session, was also announced the celebration of the gastronomy day in Albufeira, which will take place on July 26. The event will bring to the municipality renowned chefs, entrepreneurs, regional entities of the sector and the media. The mayor greeted the initiative and assured that “it will be with all the taste that Albufeira will receive this event.”
The signature of the protocol took place in the noble hall of the Paços do County and culminated with a symbolic moment of delivery of the space keys to Ahresp, marking the beginning of a new stage to support restoration and hotels in the region.
